Grappig eigenlijk dat ze modeltekenen in het frans ‘model vivant’ noemen, hoe zou het anders kunnen.

3 uur  tekenen of schilderen met poseersessies die soms maar een paar minuten duren is heel intensief maar op die wijze wordt je wel gedwongen heel goed te kijken en meteen rake lijnen neer te zetten. Ik had deze keer besloten in aquarel te werken. Dan heb ik eigenlijk veel meer tijd nodig en ik heb me beperkt tot details, spel van licht en schaduw.

Een heerlijke invulling van een vrijdagmiddag. Ik hoop dit jaar nog een paar keer aan deze ‘stages’ te kunnen deelnemen.

Funny that the French  word for figure drawing is ' model vivant ', how else could it be.

3 hours of drawing or painting with poses that sometimes take just a few minutes is very intense but then you have to look very well and immediately draw the right lines. I had this time decided to work in watercolour. Then I actually need much longer and so I have restricted myself to details, game of light and shadow. A delicious fulfillment of a Friday afternoon. I hope this year I can join a few more times to these workshops.

C'est drôle en fait qu’on l’ appelle en français  modèle « vivant », sinon, comment pourrait-il ? 3 heures de dessiner ou peindre des poses qui durent parfois quelques minutes c’est très intense, mais on est forcé à regarder très bien et immédiatement placer les lignes justes. Cette fois j'ai décidé de travailler à l'aquarelle. Normalement il me faut beaucoup plus de temps et j'ai restreint moi-même aux détails, le jeu de lumière et de l'ombre. J’ai passé un vendredi après-midi très agréable.

J'espère que cette année je peux partager plusieurs fois à ces « stages ».

Oranje tulpen

 Op 12 maart vertelde ik over de tentoonstelling van onze ateliergroep in Libos. Afgelopen vrijdag was de opening. In het sfeervolle Centre Michel Delrieu, een oude opgeknapte watermolen, zijn de aquarellen te zien die te vinden zijn op mijn blogs van 25 en 31 december 2012, en van 7 en 14 januari 2013. Het Romaans Raam had meteen een geïnteresseerde toeschouwer en is verkocht. Altijd erg leuk om een schilderij te verkopen. Dat geeft voldoening en inspiratie om op de goede weg door te gaan.

Een bosje bloemen voor mezelf dus!!! Vrolijke tulpen voor deze eerste aprildag. Deze keer geschilderd op Yupo. Afmeting 25 x 37 cm.

On March 12, I told about the exhibition of our artist group in Libos. Last Friday was the opening. In the lovely Centre Michel Delrieu, an old refurbished watermill, you can see the  watercolour paintings  that can be found on my blogs of 25 and 31 December 2012, and on 7 and 14 January 2013. The Romanesque Window immediately had an interested spectator and is sold. To sell a painting always makes me happy. That gives satisfaction and inspiration to continue on the right track.

So a bunch of flowers for myself !!! Merry tulips for this first of April. This time painted on Yupo. Dimension 25 x 37 cm.

Le 12 mars, j'ai parlé de l'exposition de notre groupe de l’atelier à Libos. Vendredi dernier il a été le vernissage. Dans le beau bâtiment Centre Michel Delrieu, un ancien moulin à eau rénové, on peut voir mes aquarelles que l'on retrouve sur mes blogs du 25 et 31 décembre 2012 et du 7 et 14 janvier 2013. La fenêtre romane a immédiatement eu un spectateur intéressé et c’est vendue. Toujours très agréable à vendre une peinture. Ca donne satisfaction et d'inspiration pour continuer sur la bonne voie.

Mijn favoriete voorjaarsbloem

Hier in Frankrijk is het voorjaar begonnen. De wilde pruim staat volop in bloei en de eerste voorzichtige bloesem van de kersenboom laat zich zien.

Er is veel werk in de tuin maar voor het eerst sinds weken heb ik ook tijd gemaakt om te schilderen. De opdracht van http://shootandpaint.blogspot.fr van deze maand heb ik met veel plezier gemaakt. Ja, de Helleborus is ‘met stip’ mijn favoriete voorjaarsbloem.

Here in France spring has started. The wild plum is in full bloom and the first tentative blossoms of the cherry tree show themselves. There is a lot of work in the garden but for the first time since weeks I also allowed myself some time to paint. With lots of pleasure I painted the challenge of http://shootandpaint.blogspot.fr of this month. 

Yes, with 'dot ' the Hellebore is  my favourite Spring flower .

Ici en France le printemps a démarré. Le prunier sauvage est en pleine floraison et les premières fleurs du cerisier se montrent avec prudence. Il y a beaucoup de travail dans le jardin, mais pour la première fois depuis des semaines j'ai aussi pris le temps pour peindre. Le defi de http://shootandpaint.blogspot.fr de ce mois, j'ai fait avec plaisir. Oui, l'Helleborus  c’ est le ‘top’ de mes fleurs préférées du printemps.

Ik vertrek

Op dit moment heb ik geen tijd om te schilderen. Zondag 17 maart vertrek ik voor langere tijd naar mijn tweede vaderland Frankrijk en dan wil ik mijn huis en tuin in Nederland graag opgeruimd en schoon achterlaten.

Right now I have no time to paint. Sunday 17 March I leave for long periods of time to my second homeland France and I want to leave my house and garden in the Netherlands properly cleaned up.

En ce moment je n'ai aucun le temps pour peindre. Dimanche le 17 Mars je part pour ma  deuxième patrie la France pour une longues période et je veux laisser ma maison et le jardin dans les Pays-Bas correctement nettoyé.

Druppels of tranen?

Carnaval is weer voorbij, wat is er met de maskers aan de hand? Zijn het tranen of druppels? 

Lang geleden was ik op een concert van Sting. Het was prachtig en de muziek en zang ontroerde me zo dat de tranen over mijn wangen liepen. Ik stond daar in de stromende regen en mijn tranen vermengen zich met de regendruppels, om nooit te vergeten!

Carnival is over, what's wrong with the masks? Are these tears or drops?

Long ago I was at a concert of Sting. It was beautiful and the music and singing moved me so that the tears ran down my cheeks. I stood there in the pouring rain and my tears mingled with the raindrops, to remember forever!

Carnaval est fini, qu’est ce qu’il y a avec les masques? Sont-ils des larmes ou des gouttes ?

Il y a longtemps, j'étais à un concert de Sting. C’était magnifique et la musique et le chant m’a tellement impressionné que les larmes ont coulé de mes joues. Nous étions là, sous une pluie battante et mes larmes se mêlent avec les gouttes de pluie, un moment à retenir !

Het eiland Mann / The Isle of Man

Helaas heb ik de laatste periode weinig tijd gehad voor creatieve uitingen maar dat wordt hopelijk beter in de tweede helft van deze maand.

Dit landschap is gemaakt voor de opdracht van http://www.virtualpaintout.blogspot.com.

Deze site van Bill Guffey laat ons iedere maand kennis maken met een ander stukje van onze aarde. Via Google Maps zoek je een lokatie en via streetview maak je een keuze voor het te schilderen onderwerp. Het door mij geschilderde landschap bevindt zich langs weg  C37 op het eiland Man. Dit was de opdracht van de maand JANUARI, voor deze maand is het de stad Valparaiso in Chili, daarover later meer.

De aquarel is gemaakt op yupo papier. Formaat: 17,5 x 25 cm. De paaltjes op de voorgrond zijn getekend met een Derwent Inktense potlood, kleur sepia. Dit werkt goed en ik ga hier zeker verder mee experimenteren.

Unfortunately this last period I have had little time for creative expressions but that will hopefully get better in the second half of this month. This landscape is made for a project of http://www.virtualpaintout.blogspot.com. This site by Bill Guffey makes us travel the world  every month. Through Google Maps you look for a location and via street view you make a choice for painting the subject. I painted the landscape along way C37 on the Isle of Man. This was the project of the month JANUARY. For this month it is the city of Valparaiso in Chile, more on that later.

The watercolour was created on yupo paper. Size: 17.5 x 25 cm. The poles in the foreground are drawn with a Derwent Inktense  pencil, colour sepia. This works well and I am sure I will do some further experiment.

Malheureusement, cette dernière période j'ai eu peu de temps pour des expressions créatives mais  si tout va bien cela ira mieux dans la seconde moitié de ce mois. Ce paysage est prévu pour le projet de http://www.virtualpaintout.blogspot.com. Tous les mois ce site par Bill Guffey laissez-nous explorer un autre endroit de notre terre. Vous cherchez un endroit par l'intermédiaire de Google Maps et ensuite par ‘streetview’. Le paysage que j’ai peint est le long du chemin C37 sur l'île de Man, c'était le projet du mois de Janvier, pour ce mois-ci c’est la ville de Valparaiso, au Chili, j’en travaille plus tard.

L'aquarelle a été créé sur papier yupo. Dimensions : 17,5 x 25 cm. Les pôles à l'avant-plan sont dessinés avec un crayon de Derwent Inktense, couleur sépia. Cela fonctionne bien et je suis veux prendre plus d'expérience avec ça.
