De baai van Arcachon

aquarel, 40 x 50 cm, Canson grain fin

Evenals vorig jaar was onze cursusleidster Marie Labille,  ( http://marielabille.jimdo.com/,)

In the week of 4 to 7 October, I followed a workshop. Our teacher, as well as last year, was Marie Labille (http://marielabille.jimdo.com/,), the topics were: Poetic atmospheres in landscapes and seascapes, characters and atmosphere in a rainy street.

This painting is one of the challenges. A black and white photo of the Bay of Arcachon (is located south of Bordeaux) serves as a source of inspiration. The focus is placed on the row of wooden stakes in the foreground. In the sky you see the danger of a lightning storm. The harmony of the painting is set in the imaginary line, which runs from top left to bottom right. The basis for my painting is the drawing in charcoal that you see below. The boats that I have drawn, are not included in the final version.
